In this two-part class participants will learn about fabric choices, color and contrast, proper measuring and cutting tips and techniques. During the first class, students will make for a pinwheel block, nine-patch block, and rail fence block using the standard 1/4″ seam allowance and the strip-piecing method.
The second class will be used to assemble the blocks, sandwich the top, batting, and backing and determine quilting techniques to use. Various methods of binding a quilt will be demonstrated.
Supply List (All supplies must be purchased in advance)
- Cutting mat, rotary cutter, 6″ x 24″ ruler, 12″ square ruler.
- Neutral-colored thread (preferably Aurifil 50wt)
- Sewing machine in working order with at least two filled bobbins
- scissors
- container to store fabric, thread, scissors, and finished blocks (optional)
