About Patchwork Phoenix

Hal and me

Patchwork Phoenix is the retail storefront for LauraLee, LLC, a company that has specialized in website design and hosting, along with some retail, since July 2006. In December 2013, the owners, Laura and Hal Brewer, purchased a building in the historic district of Raton, New Mexico, and opened the Patchwork Phoenix later that summer as a variety retail establishment.

Patchwork Phoenix is a gallery/gift shop, ice cream/tea parlor, and a quilt/sewing shop. The name "Patchwork Phoenix" was chosen to signify that we have a "little of everything," and that we arose from Historic First Street, a once vibrant main street of Raton that had seen better days, but is now coming alive again.

Our operating hours are usually Tuesday through Saturday, noon until 6 p.m. However, in the summertime we will stay open later to accommodate the Boy Scouts who are waiting for the Amtrak train to take them home after a two-week stay at Philmont Scout Ranch located in Cimarron, New Mexico.

Boy Scouts

We always have plenty of playing cards, dominoes, checkers, chess sets, and delicious refreshments to help them pass their time. We provide free wi-fi and charging areas for their phones and tablets too.

Boy Scouts
Only at Patchwork Phoenix can visitors enjoy a double scoop of 19 flavors of ice cream, drink a delicious Boylan soda, enjoy freshly ground, whole-bean Solar Roast coffee, have a smoothing cup of specialty, loose-leaf tea, play a game of chess, charge a cell-phone, and buy a hand-made gift, all in one place!
